August 2, 2004 ~ This is going to be a very special week! We are going to be the proud recipients of one of Matthew's dragons from Mystical Dragons! This little boy has a sight impairment and needed a home that was experienced to handle his special care needs. So of course we jumped at the opportunity to be his new loving home. He doesn't have a name yet (Matthew is helping us with that), and I've been told he's got quite the personality! We can't wait to get him! I'll update this page next week with more info and photos after he arrives. (The first two photos were taken by Matt...)

Update August 9, 2004 ~ We decided to keep the name that Matt chose for him, Stevie. He was named after Stevie Wonder because he does this cute little head shake when he's trying to focus on something. Stevie is doing great and is eating up a storm. He readily accepts crickets and silkies from us without any problems. He's also shedding and we can't wait to see his beautiful color!

Update December 13, 2004 ~ Stevie is really growing and his coloring has not faded in the least. He is still as bright and beautiful as the day we received him. His eyesight problem hasn't improved or worsened. Stevie manages to find his food dish with no problem and still loves the silkies! Matthew from Mystical Dragons sure did a good job with this one!

Update January 13, 2005 ~ One of the units in our "Beardie Condo" have become vacant - RIP Lizzy - so we moved Stevie into the top condo. He had outgrown the 30 gallon aquarium he was in. He's been in the condo for about a week now and so far he loves it! He's always climbing or jumping onto something - he's a very active little guy, considering his sight handicap. So he needed a large enclosure. He has a view of everything that goes on in that room, and has a great view out the window that over looks our front lawn. He can watch the squirrels and blue jays all day long. We moved his bran box into the condo as well as all of his old furnishings from his old cage. We wanted him to feel as comfortable as possible. He already knows his way around his condo and found his food dish within the first hour he moved in. I think moving him was a great decision! The condo is perfect for his needs.

Update June, 2005 ~ Stevie was adopted by some dear friends of our and is doing great!

Update February, 2009 ~ We were just informed that Stevie passed away in his sleep. RIP big guy. We will miss your bubbily personality and beautiful colorings.
